Es Alienor

Want Earliness? – Alienor performs

Es Alienor remains the earliest variety on farm and offers a profitable alternative to winter barley and an early harvest. Grain sampling data by TAG enclosed in the Alienor Technical leaflet shows that Alienor is consistently 4% drier (7-10 days earlier) than Castille. The clear message is if you want earliness then Es Alienor performs.

Es Astrid – the combines favourite

When the combine starts cutting Astrid crops the ease and speed of harvest, yield in the tank and consistency across soil types on farm reiterates the benefits of growing the Low Biomass variety Astrid. Added to this the multigene resistance to phoma stem canker and the safeguard of this resistance if autumn fungicides are delayed due to workload or weather then many agronomists love Astrid on farm too.

Es Cubic – new improved Castille

This season we have seed available of Es Cubic – an improved Castille with very good autumn vigour similar to Es Alienor. Cubic is a direct descendent of Es Astrid with the same multigene resistance to phoma stem canker with improved yields and oils compared to Castille. If you like Low Biomass you will love Es Cubic.

Pigeons a problem? Drill Es Alienor or Es Cubic

Both Alienor and Cubic will establish quickly and keep ahead of pigeons better than any other variety. They have more vigour than most hybrids and also with a higher sowing rate will cover the ground faster. Ensure good seedbeds so that no potential landing areas are created.

Seed treatment benefits

Growers are advised to upgrade their winter oilseed rape seed treatment to improve vigour at establishment by sowing seed treated with Modesto or Cruiser rather than Chinook. Just 60kg/ha extra yield is required to pay for the extra seed treatment and average response is 0.34t/ha giving the grower a £75/ha benefit.
